Hold On, Love!

We're holding on to the last few days of this nice weather!
Word around town is that it's about to get pretty chilly in the next few days.
This is what I wore the other day, when the weather was the perfect kind of chilly.
I love this polka dot blouse for so many reasons...but mostly because it's so soft & silky.

Timothy & I are having a little date night tonight.
Dinner at our favorite burger place & maybe even a movie!

Holiday Crafts & Giveaway Winner!

Now we've all got our minds set on Christmas!!
The madness has begun with those crazy Black Friday shoppers...
I'm not fully committed to this idea. I actually take wayyyy too long to shop.
I like to browse, compare, imagine how things would look on me/in my home.
So, taking me Black Friday shopping would be like taking your 89 year old grandmother, I'd imagine.
Recipe for disaster?

Happy Thanksgiving, Friends!

Well, hello there! Just popping in to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of my lovely blogger friends.
I'm spending the day cooking with my family at my parents' house.
I'll admit that I've already taken a Thanksgiving nap (while the turkey was cooking, so it's fine!).
Dinner will be done soon, and we're all ready to indulge.
Anyway, I wanted to give you a little sneak-peak of some Christmas crafts I've been doing.

Forever and A Day

Do you ever have those days when you feel like wearing lots & lots of color?
Well, this day was one of those days.
I wore this adorable blouse I bought from Red Velvet over the summer.
It was a bit too hot to wear in the hot summer months,
so it's become my perfect fall blouse!
And I kind of like that it's not the quintessential "fall" color.

Coffee Date

Hello, friends!
I hope Friday is treating you well.
I'm so excited to have a day off to sew.
I'm doing the DIY Trunk Show in Chicago tomorrow, so I'm sewing like crazy for tomorrow!
But I'm popping in quickly to share an outfit I wore out to breakfast with Timothy.

Oh, and expect to be seeing a lot of this striped sweater..
I bought it from Brandy Melville in Santa Monica.
It's suuuuper soft & comfy....so yep. I think I'll be wearing it tons during fall!

take time for joy

I've been thinking a lot about joy lately.
How it's easy to lose your sense of joy & appreciation for everyday life.
I know it happens to me sometimes! I get caught up in routines and schedules and lists and I lose sight of appreciating everyday life.
Today I made a point to slow down and find joy in little things.

Some "joyful" moments from today:
-driving with the windows & sunroof open and loving the fresh, cool breeze
-hugging some of my best friends
-laughing with my sister & husband
-taking a different route home from work
-wearing pretty colors that make me smile
-putting on lipstick
-drinking a different coffee than usual
-sewing up ornaments & being productive

extra fancy

I was feeling a little extra fancy today,
so I put on this fun number I picked up from H&M in California.
It's such a pretty, delicate, 60s-inspired silhouette.
I couldn't pass it up!

I paired it with a black faux-fur collar I found hidden away in my closet.
Aren't clothing re-discoveries the best?!
I was pretty stoked with how perfect it looked with the dress.

Timothy & I snapped these photos while walking our pup, Casey.
The sun was shining bright...but don't let it fool you!
It was pretty chilly today.
And guess what?! We officially had our very first snow this afternoon!
And so it begins, I suppose ;)

It's one of my best friend's 23rd birthday tomorrow..lucky gal. She'll be celebrating on one of the most magical days of the year.

november blue

I took these photos the other day while my husband Tim was at work.
With daylight savings time in full swing, he's been getting home after the sun goes down.
So I took it upon myself to try out some self-portraits.
I set up a tripod in my living room & played around with the pretty sunshine beaming through the windows.
Pretty fun!

And I tried out a pretty scarf tutorial I found from Hello, It's Valentine.

I love going out & having fun with outfit shots with Tim or my sister,
but this was fun too.
I think I'll try out some more self-done outfit shots this week.
