Home Sweet Indiana

Kylie and I went out into the cornfield behind our parents' house for a little shoot.
We've lived in Indiana for about 11 years now, and there's something about green cornfields that just feels like home to me.
Kylie and I have spent countless hours running around, playing hide & seek, and even riding our bikes through this very cornfield.

She'll be leaving for New Zealand in August, so we plan on having as many photo shoots as possible before then!
We've never been an ocean apart from each other before, so I know it'll be a bit tough for the 2 months before I arrive in NZ too.

And the big news at the moment? Ky started a blog!!
It's called Midnight & Dawn (after our clothing line), and it's shapin' up to be a pretty fancy place.

Love Is Like A Silhouette In Dreams!

These past few days have been super duper hot!
My solution this summer? Maxi skirts.
I've never really been one to wear long skirts but lemme tell ya...they are a lifesaver in this kind of heat!
Today was all about staying nice and cool.
So I threw on my trusty skirt & an equally-breezy shirt and seized the day!

(This Kimbra song is becoming a non-stop summer tune for me.)






And how beautiful is this bag?!
My sister Kylie was kind enough to let me borrow it.
She found it at an antique store the other day.
I love it and plan on stealing it as many times as possible ;)






Ok. Here's some nephew cuteness for you for today:
Tim & I were babysitting Seth tonight while Kylie & Matt celebrated their anniversary.
Our pup Casey was not excited about this.
He kind of has only child syndrome, I think.

What a jerk, right?! Geez. If looks could kill...

Wanted : Etsy Edition

Here are some pretty little things I'm loving on Etsy at the moment.
I've been dreaming of summer adventures by the sea.
Tim and I are planning a big trip to New Zealand in October.
We're planning to be there until February.
So we'll have a full summer in Indiana, followed by a full-on New Zealand summer!
I'm pretty darn excited to say the least.
New Zealand is the most beautiful place I've ever seen.

Flightless Bird

Well, well, well. We meet again on this lovely Monday morning!
I trust you all had amazing weekends.
The weather has been HOT, HOT, HOT in Indiana lately.
I'm really not complaining though - I enjoy some sunshine and warm skin.
It's good for the heart, I think ;)

Tim took these photos on our evening walk.
Having a dog is the perfect excuse to get out every evening for quality time aaaaand....blog photos ;)
I'm not gonna lie...I was being kind of a baby near the end of this shoot.
I was standing near this building. In the dirt. With spiders. And those spiders thought it would be fun to crawl up my leg.
That's when I lost it. I shrieked like a little girl and told Tim "It's fine! We got enough pictures, I'm sure!" (Even though we obviously hadn't...haha)
And being the champion husband that Tim is, he told me it was alright and that he'd shoot a few more and we'd be done.
And sure enough, the man snapped some perfect photos so quickly!
What a guy, what a guy.
Ok. Enough silly stories about spiders that weren't that big or scary.

She's A Rainbow

Woah! Yep. That's me in these photos. Say hello to my brand new RED HAIR!
I'm pretty excited about it.
I'll be honest...the first day I was pretty unsure of it.
I haven't seen my hair any other color besides brown in so long.
(Well, I don't know if my blonde highlights back when I was 14 count...)
But I've been itching to do something different with my hair.
And I figured I should just do it!
It took some getting used to, but I'm really loving it now.

(Kylie suggested that I title this post "She's A Rainbow", inspired by this Stones song.)











So yeah. There it is. My crazy new 'do!
