Valentine's Day

Today we had the sweetest Valentine's Day together, even though my boys are fighting a cold. So we spent most of the chilly day sleeping, watching TV, eating cookies and listening to records. It was nice to stay in our apartment, away from the busy restaurants and movie theaters. We planned a late V-day date next weekend at Terrain, a beautiful garden cafe with the most delicious food. We've never taken Max there, but I think he will love it. The cafe feels like a greenhouse, with beautiful plants and flowers all around. Now all we have to do is rest up and kick this sickness before the weekend hits!

I hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day, whether you're married, dating, single, or whatever. I hope it was spent celebrating those you love most.

Valentine's Day Project

I realized that this is the 5th Valentine's Day Tim & I have spent together.
So I decided to do a "5 Things I Love About Being Yours" book for him.
I snapped some instant photos to go along with 5 things I had written down.
 
I actually just used a few pages from an old daily planner,
some pretty decorative tape, and supplies from Kikki K and went to town!
I was so pleased with the outcome.

Love Me, Love Me

Happy Love Day!!
Tim & I exchanged gifts this afternoon..which were the best!!
Tim gave me the sweetest handmade card AND got me a fancy new Ipod, since mine was bitin' the dust!
And I gave him a jacket from H&M. It looks so great on him.
I'm pretty sure it was made especially for him by someone at the H&M headquarters ;)

Then we got dressed up an went out to a fancy dinner in the early evening.



We went to our favorite restaurant, Bartlett's.
It's kind of out in the middle of nowhere in Beverly Shores, Indiana.
My friend Ashton used to work there and she introduced me to this amazing little gem!
It has such a great atmosphere and (of course) amazing food!
Oh, and my all-time favorite bottle of raspberry deliciousness ;)

we went out to eat at our favorite restaurant, bought way too much candy, and had so many laughs together.

needless to say, i LOVE "love day"

just popping in for a quick post before tim & i start celebrating sweet ol' valentine's day!
we're getting chocolates from a sweet shop downtown, going to our favorite restaurant for dinner
(sweet potato fries, chicken pot pie, baked mac & cheese...all cooked to absolute perfection. washed down with raspberry framboise!)
then we're heading home, building a fort (hopefully!),
snuggling up with our pup & watching a movie.

as our first valentine's day as mr. & mrs. approaches,
i'm looking for special little things to do!

tim & i are all about making holidays special.
so we've both getting pretty excited about valentine's day.
