Happy 2016

We rung in the new year with good friends in the garden state. We set up Max in the guest bedroom and put him to sleep before the festivities began. I was so impressed with the way he slept through the craziness. I kept pressing my ear against his door, expecting to hear him stirring...but he was quiet as a mouse until after the party. Then he decided to be up for two hours ;) But we all had a good, lazy day the next day to make up for our late night. 

Today marks 9 months for our not-so-little dude. We call him our tiny giant because he's always been so big and strong for his age. He is nonstop crawling, ready to walk already. He is always moving, playing and laughing. He loves when we sing, clap, and make funny faces at him. He's working on his 8th tooth already too. What a little treasure he is to us.

Out And About

We've been trying our best to be out and about, exploring our new Chicago neighborhood lately. It's tough when the winds are so bitter cold as winter sets in, but it's always so refreshing to discover new shops, cafes, and restaurants. We've never lived in such a big city, so we're taking full advantage of our opportunities (and free time!) before our baby boy arrives. It's really starting to sink in that he'll be here in three months. Welcoming this new year means welcoming the most life-changing year of our lives. 2014 was absolutely incredible with our adventures and finding out we were expecting, but I think 2015 is going to be the best year yet. I hope you've all got amazingly fancy plans for tonight.
Tim & I are headed to a party at our friends' home.
It should be pretty amazing!

I couldn't help but make a bunch of glittery star hair clips for tonight.
Just some glittery cardstock, hot glue, and hair clips.
Simple, fun, and adorable!
Oh, and my first ever "animated gif"!
I might become a bit obsessed with these in 2012. Just a fair warning ;)


Well, I've got some New Year's Eve things to attend to now.
But I hope you all have a beautiful night filled with laughter & kisses & fireworks.

Live Your Dream

I hope you all a wonderful Christmas! I sure did.
There's really nothing better than a house full of family you love.
And not to mention thoughtful presents & delicious food & sweet treats!

As 2012 comes up quickly, I've been thinking about resolutions.
I'm not huge on making an "official" resolution. I never end up sticking to them.
But this year I've decided to commit to something broader.
I plan to live my dream...
One joyful moment at a time.
I want to see everyday as something beautiful. With endless creative possibilities awaiting.
I want to make every single day a little better than the one before.

am i the only one who thinks 2010 just flew by?!
craziness! pure craziness.

but i'm stoked for the new year.
i'm usually not one to get too excited about new years, but i had an awesome night last night.

my sweetie & i got to go out with some of our best friends,
share some drinks & laughs & brought in the new year singing and dancing.
such a fun time!
